About
Slynnpack LLC
Reading the films the auction never reads.
§01Why this exists
One archive, three rare properties.
Medical imaging models are usually starved of two things: consistent acquisition, and honest outcome labels. Getting either is expensive. Getting both is close to impossible.
Thoroughbred sales produce both as a by-product of commerce. The films are shot to a fixed protocol because an auction house requires it. The labels arrive as public prices and, later, as public race records. Nobody built this for research. It exists anyway.

§02Founder
Samantha Lynn Pack
Founder
Samantha Lynn Pack grew up in Floyd County, Kentucky, and spent seven seasons working on central Kentucky breeding farms and the backstretch before moving into software.
She studied computer science at the University of Kentucky and spent the following five years building medical imaging infrastructure, working on DICOM ingestion, study normalisation and detection models for musculoskeletal radiographs.
She founded Slynnpack in 2026 to apply that work to the animals she started with, and to the one imaging archive in medicine that already arrives standardised, priced and followed for a decade.
§03Advisors
The people who tell us we are wrong.
A model that grades findings is only as good as the clinical judgement it is measured against. These are the readers, surgeons and commercial people who set that bar.
-
Dr Marion Ellsworth, DVM, DACVS
Surgical advisor
Board-certified equine surgeon. Twenty-two years in central Kentucky practice, with a caseload weighted to yearling arthroscopy.
-
Dr Priya Raghunathan, DVM, DACVR
Imaging advisor
Veterinary radiologist. Reads large-animal musculoskeletal studies and advises on grading protocol and inter-reader agreement.
-
Thomas Brennan
Commercial advisor
Bloodstock agent. Twenty years buying and selling at the Lexington and Saratoga sales on behalf of domestic and international clients.
-
Dr Alan Whitfield, PhD
Technical advisor
Machine learning researcher working on detection under small-sample conditions and calibration of clinical confidence scores.
§04How we intend to behave
Four commitments, written down so they can be held against us.
The veterinarian decides
Every output is advisory. We will not build a product that returns a verdict without a clinician, and we will not market one as if it did.
Publish the failures
Dataset size, class balance, confidence intervals, reader disagreement and the cases we get wrong. All of it, alongside any accuracy figure we ever quote.
Never re-identify
Partner data is de-identified before transfer and stays that way. We will not use one partner's archive to value a specific horse for a third party.
Claim nothing we have not shown
No implied clearance, no borrowed credibility, no logos of organisations that have not agreed to appear. If a figure on this site is someone else's work, it says so beside the figure.
Working on the same problem?
Practices, researchers, consignors and sceptics are all equally welcome to write.
